Roadsport B

The Caterham Roadsport-B championship is the follow-on series from Academy, exclusively for the previous year’s Academy drivers and ‘invited’ novices. Roadsport-B makes use of the standard Academy car with minor modifications and road legal, track focused Avon CR500 tyres, which combine to allow the drivers to explore the capabilities of their cars.

As with the Academy, the Roadsport-B championship can only be entered once to ensure a level playing field of ability, so a Roadsport-B car can be easily upgraded at the end of the year to the Supersport championship specification. Team support remains forbidden at this level with central support provided instead by Caterham, keeping costs low and mechanical knowledge not a requirement or an advantage.

The Roadsport-B race series has provided some of the best supported, closest racing in all of the Caterham championships in recent years.
